Growls away on Grisley

by

Did you know?

Before his music made the slightest dent on the popular mainstream, times were rough for Tom Waits. So rough in fact that Waits had to spend many a night snuggling in the grisley cave at the local zoo. Though the bears took some time to adjust to their new cohabitant, they soon learned that messing with Waits could very well lead to a black eye and some missing fur. The grisleys came to respect and revere Waits, who took no time to pick up the grisley growling language. It is said that the song “God’s Away on Business” is in fact written entirely in Grisley!
